This little snack is not exactly rocket science but it is delicious. It always brings back memories of being back in boarding school and this being our occasional little treat after dinner..aaah memories. We have a banana tree in our back yard. Why? You might wonder: well, my mum being an avid gardener thought it would be fun to try grow one a few years back. Now it towers in the back yard and last week it had a bunch of lovely little bananas just right for the picking. sandwiches
Another cloudy day and I'm sitting here thinking what I can eat? So I just grabbed about 6 of these little bananas sliced them horizontally, put about a teaspoon of peanut butter in the middle, sandwiched them back together and then halved them again - this time vertically.
Next I melted some beautiful, silky, milk chocolate in the microwave (to speed up the process!). Place the banana pieces, sandwiched with peanut butter on a sheet of cookie paper, on a tray and place a spoonful of the chocolate on top, and poke a tooth pick through each one to hold it all together.
Once the chocolate has set serve this with a little fresh cream. The cream is just one more luxury to top it off
What a wonderful treat. Love the mix of flavors.
