<span style="font-family: "trebuchet ms" , sans-serif;">
<span style="font-family: "trebuchet ms" , sans-serif;">Are you looking for something to warm you up in this windy chilly Melbourne weather?
<span style="font-family: "trebuchet ms" , sans-serif;">

<span style="font-family: "trebuchet ms" , sans-serif;">You are not alone the weather had turned and we seemed to have missed Autumn completely and gone straight into Winter! Which means I'm so very cold and I want to dive into bowls of heartwarming soups.
<span style="font-family: "trebuchet ms" , sans-serif;">
<span style="font-family: "trebuchet ms" , sans-serif;">A recipe I saw in a Coles magazine for a Thai pumpkin soup with prawns which looked perfect for a cold rainy day like so many we have been having lately.
<span style="font-family: "trebuchet ms" , sans-serif;">
<span style="font-family: "trebuchet ms" , sans-serif;">As fate would have it I was gifted with a bottle of Abalone sauce from a company called Kansom. Which was exciting and the unknown, to be honest, I haven't even tried abalone. I was warned to use it sparingly and that it was salty. So I thought adding it to this soup would be the perfect substitution for the fish sauce in the recipe which it was! I actually didn't find it that strong and I feel like could have been a bit more generous with it.
<span style="font-family: "trebuchet ms" , sans-serif;">
<span style="font-family: "trebuchet ms" , sans-serif;">The soup was delicious but I do feel the quantity of brown sugar the recipe calls for is slightly excessive. By the time you get to end of your bowl of soup the sweetness becomes overpowering and just too sweet. I would be happily half the quantity of sugar which for me is saying a lot!
<span style="font-family: "trebuchet ms" , sans-serif;">
<span style="font-family: "trebuchet ms" , sans-serif;">I also had some leftover frozen salt and pepper cuttlefish in my fridge and being the queen of repurposing, I tossed these in turmeric and coriander and fried these and using them as my soup toppers instead of the prawn and it worked well. Apart from the sweet factor the soup was an explosion of flavours and was warming and delicious.

Here I go my first venture into the world of gluten-free baking. It's exciting and slightly nerve wrecking trying to imagine the world where baking doesn't require the conventional ingredients.

A couple of weekends ago I decided to give this a try when I had a friend who has given up eating artificial sugar visit. Which is great and I think very brave, I only wish I had that sort of courage.

I had an orange and poppy seed cake on my mind for a while which was followed by a light bulb moment to try to make a healthy version of this without using artificial sugars. Cue Teresa Cutter recipe for a flourless orange cake.

I added about 1/4 cup of poppy seeds for a touch of texture and I may have gotten little carried away with dark chocolate streaks and toasted coconut on the top, but it was delicious! What I loved about this cake was the sheer simplicity of it all. Boil a couple of oranges and then put everything food processor, flex that button pushing finger and in about 1 min you have your cake batter.

The cake turned out moist and delicious, I served it with some vanilla yoghurt which seemed to help balance out the citrus flavours. <span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif;">The recipe does say to use sweet oranges but how you can guarantee your oranges are gloriously sweet before you use them is beyond me. Mine seemed to have tad bitterness but perhaps that was from the rind, which I was also completely surprised that you really do throw the whole boiled orange into the food processor skin and all!
<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif;">

<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif;">This recipe is simple, delicious and with the natural ingredients, this is a dessert you can feel good about. I suggest you try it and let me know what you think.
Shortbread a cookie or biscuit depending on what you call it, with such simple ingredients but yields an amazing delicious tea time treat.

A colleague's husband was kind enough to bake up a batch of the most delicious shortbread cookies I have ever tasted for our office morning tea. As if that was not good enough, he made them chocolate chip and they were cut into the shape of giraffes. Why giraffes you might ask? Well, another colleague was celebrating a work anniversary and she also happens to love giraffes, although I have to say I don't believe one needs a good reason to make shortbread cookies into giraffes. They are just adorable!

Nat's hubby was lovely enough to provide his recipe, which is exceptionally kind of him as I know a lot of chefs can be very guarded about these things. I have been trying to be a lot healthier in my baking lately producing a delicious healthy banana coconut bread (watch out for that post) last week, however, I felt I just needed to test out this recipe. Sadly I only had heart shape cookie cutters so they will have to do!

I ended up halving my dough and freezing it for another day, it was either that or I would have probably eaten the whole thing! With half the quantity I made about 16 heart shape cookies, which was delicious. In fact, it is taking all my willpower not to get up from this chair and greedily inhale a few more. Although I feel it is mostly a losing battle. How does that saying go, "the spirit is willing, but the body is weak" that pretty much sums it up!
<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">These have to be without a doubt my favourite cookies yes even over
chocolate chip cookies . I have been craving these like crazy for the
last few months so I finally decided to try make them . These little
beauties are the perfect pick me up cookies and will lift your mood
instantly , they are buttery soft and just melt in your mouth .I call
them cloud cookies mainly because I cannot actually say Nan Khatai out
loud without tripping over my own tongue and they are so light practically burst with flavour. You just have to give them a try. I was
quite pleased with my first ever attempt at these and were easier to
make then I thought !

<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">Recipe is relatively simple

<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">

<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">1 1/4 cup flour

<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">3/4 cup icing sugar

<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">1/2 cup ghee in liquid form

<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">Pinch of salt

<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">Preheat oven to 170 C

<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">Line a cookie sheet with parchment or grease

<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">Sieve flour and salt together

<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">Cream the ghee and icing sugar together and slowly add flour a
tablespoon at a time till you can form a soft ball of dough you may
not need to use all the flour.Adding too much flour can make them hard I
am told so be careful .

<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">Cover the dough with cling film and let it rest for 20 minutes ( I was too impatient I let it rest for maybe

<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">10 minutes and it was fine )

<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">Break of dough and form small balls with slightly damp hands and place on a baking tray about 1 inch apart

<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">Bake for about 10-13 minutes keep an eye on them and don't let them brown on top

<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">Once done remove from oven let cool for 10 minutes before transferring them to a cooling rack to cool down completely .

<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">These little morsels of heaven are amazing and they make my
mornings complete I have one or two after breakfast and my day just
seems instantly better!

<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">I found another recipe which I shall try the next time

<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">This year seems to have flown by .... what did you do last Christmas.. who did you spend it with..where were you ? Sometimes it seems like all a blur.

<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;"> Do you remember that excitement of
rushing over to family and loved ones or waking up early morning to open
your presents under a tree covered in tinsel and beautiful lights .

<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">When
you want to make Christmas special you tend to go all
out.Last year I made all the traditional stuff breudar , love
cake which thanks to a faulty oven resulted in a not so great love
cake,which was a bit disappointing as I was trying to make the
day just perfect it was the first time I had attempted either of them so nevertheless
was proud of the fact that I managed to try out my mums recipes at
least .Oh and let's not forgot the yummy Christmas cookies with
colourful icing and sprinkles who doesn't love being gifted a tin of home
made Christmas cookies.

<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">This year I thought that I might do something a little different . I have
been playing with the idea of red velvet cookies based on a recipe I
found on the blog Cooking Classy , they seemed perfectly Christmas like .They didn't turn out exactly as planned humidity and icing
sugar not a great combination,but they taste yum and my whole apartment
was filled with the most enticing smells of freshly baked cookies
Nothing beats walking though the door and being welcomed by that !

<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">
My mum is one of the best people I know she's the kind of person
who always puts everyone first and would go without if it meant giving
someone else something .She has got a heart of gold and if you meet her
you can't help but love her for her warmth and generosity . Yes like all
mums and their kids there are times we drive each other crazy but the
end of the day she respects us enough to always let us make our own
choices even if she doesn't agree with them sometimes quite audibly !
But as she puts its it its our lives and she very rarely says I told you
so and all she wants is for her kids to be happy.
<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">I always say if I can be half the person she is that will be
something . I have been missing her alot lately and she is also one of
the best cooks I know and her fish buns are famous with all who know
her so I thought that I would make these bring me a little closer to home .
This is such a great recipe you can make fish buns or fish pizza which
was delicious the last time I made it . I have only made them with atta
flour. Trying to be healthy .

<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif; font-size: small;">My flat mate decided to help with my recent weight loss and
get me stronger some logic he has about carrots .They are too him what
spinach is to Popeye apparently showed up with a rather large bag and
now I am trying to figure out what on earth to do with these I mean
there are only so many carrots a girl can eat .I was planning on making
carrot cake but since I had many mouths to feed on the weekend carrot
cookies seemed more crowd friendly and less messy for the host ...time
for the Konstant Kraver to get creative . I came across a cookie recipe
...bizarre as it seems carrots in a cookie which were described as a
cinnamon bun in a cookie even I was surprised how popular they were.I
personally still love carrot cake with heavenly cream cheese frosting
which you can check out a previous post of mine .

<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif; font-size: small;">Directions:

<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif; font-size: small;">In a bowl combine the egg, butter, bananas , sugars, vanilla,
and beat on medium-high speed until light and fluffy, about 5 minutes.

<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif; font-size: small;">Stop, scrape down the sides of the bowl, and add the cinnamon,
allspice, nutmeg, ginger, optional salt, and beat momentarily to
incorporate. The cookies are pleasantly spiced and robust, without
being over-spiced, but dial down the amounts as written and adjust to
taste if you're particularly sensitive.

<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif; font-size: small;">Add the flour, oats, baking soda, and beat until just combined,
less than 1 minute. Add the carrots and beat to incorporate, about 30
seconds. Add the optional butterscotch chips, raisins, and beat to
incorporate, about 30 seconds.

<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif; font-size: small;"> Scoop out out mounds of dough and place them on a large plate.
Flatten mounds just slightly with heel of your hand. Cover plate with
plasticwrap and refrigerate dough for at least 3 hours, up to 5 days,
before baking. Dough is far too soft and moist, and is unsuitable for
baking until it's been chilled or cookies will spread dramatically.

<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif; font-size: small;">Preheat oven to 350F, line 2 baking sheets with parchment,
or spray with cooking spray; set aside. Space dough 2 inches apart (8
per tray) and bake for 9 to 11 minutes or until tops have just set, even
if slightly underbaked and glossy in the center. Cookies firm up as
they cool, and baking too long results in cookies that set up too crisp
and hard with overdone undersides

<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif; font-size: small;">Allow cookies to cool on the baking sheet for about 10 minutes
before removing and transferring to a rack to finish cooling. I dipped
mine in white chocolate after and sprinkled some crushed roasted peanuts
on top

<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">Lemons , Oranges anything even slightly citrus I love, yes even more than chocolate *gasp* I know crazy.This lemon tart was light refreshing and just zinged with every mouthfall. My lovely friend whose house I took it over to had it with ice cream the following night which I think was an absolutely amazing idea , a good vanilla ice cream to balance out the citrus.The recipe was from <a href="http://www.taste.com.au/recipes/16046/lemon+tart" style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">taste.com.au<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">. I did miss the part where you are suppose to leave it overnight i the fridge. So I baked it for about 40 mins and then popped it in the fridge for about 2 hours .

<div style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">
In honour of Anzac day I decided to try make some cookies , never really tried them before. Found a recipe on exclusivelyfood.com.au was very excited at how easy it all looked. I have had a mad craving for anything peanut butter lately so I decided to substitute some of the butter with peanut butter yum.. Now I have been a little distracted off late so I didn't pay much attention to the actual recipe...big surprise I hear you say. So somehow my mixture became too dry to mold into balls of dough. In an attempt to save it that is when I mixed in one egg.

<div style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">

<div style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">
That seemed to do the trick, so once again we were back in business. Baked for 15-20 min they were golden and crunchy on the out side, but the so soft and moist on the inside a mixture of dark brown sugar with the peanut butter I am guessing.

by the Konstant Kraver

<div style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">
My
little Smurf nephew is one 1!! I called him Sulky Smurf from the day he
was born , which is slightly ironic because he is usually laughing it is
just the rare moments he is not all smiley he has this cute sulky look
on his face and he is always in blue!. So for his first birthday my
sister thought a Smurf theme was perfect. When we were kids my mum and
dad had this whole operation for our Birthday cakes. Mum would bake it
and Dad would shape it and icing it .

<div style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">

<div style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">
So seeing as Sulky Smurf has inherited his grand dads name I recruited him for the process . The Cake Boss I am not ! The cake recipe was one I got from taste.com.au.
It was delicious. I adore a good butter cake it has to my favourite
type of cake .The recipe makes a large cake which was perfect for this
process. Trying to get white for the hat and pants drove me slightly
insane as you know normal butter cream icing is a pale yellow. So into
that I ended up mixing marshmallow fluff which was great for the colour
but then it started to slide and drip...arrrrghhh. So that had to be
left well alone for more than a few hours to firm up.I spent two days
covered in icing and food colouring ....erm ok I may have eaten more of
the icing then what I was covered in, but hey someone has to make sure
it tasted great!

<div style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">

<div style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">
The
result of our little smurf adventure was far from perfect and he looks like
a slightly deranged smurf (hence the title of this post), but I will mark it up to as a learning experiance it was so moist and yummy though so I can live with that. My mums Smurf inspired marshmallows made up for it.

<div style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">I opened up my fridge and found a tub of Marscapone which needed to be used, that stuff is a little too pricey to let it just go past the used by date unused and unappreciated. So I scoured the internet for possible uses and came across this sort of tray cake, well I call it more a tray cake. The original recipe was for blondies, but the texture is more cake like, and moist.It was so easy to make , I literally used one bowl and had it all ready for baking in its little tray in 10 minutes.
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif; text-align: center;">
<div style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">

<div style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">The result was a moist cake just bursting with flavours of oranges, the dark chocolate on top was perfect in cutting through the sweetness without being to overpowering, and the nuts they just added a lovely crunch.
<div style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">

<div style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">Easter dawns and this year I thought I would try a pie for dessert, I am a little bit over chocolate yes I know shock horror isn't that what Easter is about well a large part of it. However I always say life would be very boring if we always stuck to what we are supposed to do.That and I have been trying to overcome my general laziness when it comes to making pies, because I do so love them but they always feel like such hard work! I did decide to reduce the amount of nuts the original recipe asks for.
<div style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">

<div style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">This recipe was based of a Walnut Pie recipe which you can find on the SBS website.
<div style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">
<div style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">

<div style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">Finally I put my Bea's of Bloomsbury cookbook to use. Last year when I was in London , walking into Bea's was pure heaven they had so many enticing goodies around I just knew that I had to get my self the cookbook.
<div style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">

<div style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">The first thing I tried was the passion fruit marshmallows and since I have been feeling nostalgic lately I thought I would try recreate them based on the recipe from there book. Who doesn't love marshmallows I have such found memories of them from all the colourful ones my mum used to make for our birthdays to roasting them over a fire at school, during half term ....ahh I could go on forever but I will spare you. They do contain some passion fruit seeds which adds a lovely crunch , if your making them for the kiddies make sure you leave the seeds out and just use the passion fruit juice.
<div style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">

<div style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">

<div style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">Here is the recipe
<div style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">60ml/1/4 cup passion fruit extract
<div style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">20g/3tbsp powdered gelatine
<div style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">60 ml/1/4 cup cold water
<div style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">440g/2.25 cup caster sugar
<div style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">200ml/0.75 cup water
<div style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">160ml/0.5 cup golden syrup
<div style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">1Tbsp vanilla essence
<div style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">1 tsp yellow food colouring
<div style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">

<div style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;"> pan/cooking spray,for the baking pan for greasing
<div style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">4-5 tbsp cornflour/icing sugar for coating
<div style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">

<div style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">

<div style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">

<div style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">Line the brownie tin with cling film and coat thoroughly in vegetable oil.
<div style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">Put the gelatine and the 60ml/1/4 cup cold water and 60ml/1/4 cup in a large mixing bowl and stir. Let sit and all the gelatine to swell or "bloom"
<div style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">

<div style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">In the mean time, put caster sugar,water and syrup in a pan . Cook over a low heat until the sugar has dissolved then put your thermometer into the pan, turn up heat and bring to the boil. You’re aiming for the liquid to reach 120′C
<div style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">

<div style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">Whisking furiously with an electric whisk ,slowly add the sugar syrup to the gelatine mixture marshmallow. Keep mixing until it becomes really thick in texture. If you lift the whisk head out of the mixture thin bubblegum-like strands should appear. Stir in the vanilla extract and yellow food colouring.
<div style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">

<div style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">Pour into the prepared tin scraping the mixture out of the bowl with a greased spatula. Sift some cornflour/icing sugar over the top and let rest for 2 hours or until the top is firm when pressed.
<div style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">

<div style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">Once the marshmallow has set, Grease your hands and a knife with vegetable oil. Lift out the marshmallow using the rest of the cling film and then peel it off. Cut up into squares and then roll each chunk in the cornflour to give a pleasing white coating.
<div style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">

<div style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">Eat immediately or keep in an airtight container in a cool dry place for up to 2 weeks.
KonstantKraverhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/04013374664869798578noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3261246990273651758.post-40420370066251544522012-03-04T12:44:00.003+11:002012-04-13T09:59:12.857+10:00Double Choc Chip Cookies

<div style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">
My first attempt didn't go that well admittedly ok it was terrible, I forgot to constantly stir the mixture so the peanuts got caught on the bottom and wow when that stuff starts burning it does it quick. Before i knew it my smoke alarms were going off , not to worry I got it under control ...phew and reluctantly threw it out. There were some pieces worth salvaging but I thought it was better to start completely afresh. This time I tripled the amount of peanuts since i felt the original recipe didnt have enough, but I realize for some 3 cups of peanuts might seem excessive and at the end I added about a tablespoon of Brandy.The second batch was creamy and not too hard, because as much as i love brittle i dont like it too hard, actually I think it turned out more a peanut toffee
<div style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">

<div style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">

<div style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">Ingredients:

1 cup white sugar
1/2 cup light corn syrup
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/4 cup water
1 cup peanuts
2 tablespoons butter, softened
1 teaspoon baking soda
<div style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">
<div style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">
<div style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">
<div style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif; text-align: center;">
<div style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">
Directions:
1. Grease a large cookie sheet. Set aside.
2. In a heavy 2 quart saucepan, over medium heat, bring to a boil sugar, corn syrup, salt, and water. Stir until sugar is dissolved. Stir in peanuts. Set candy thermometer in place, and continue cooking. Stir frequently until temperature reaches 300 degrees F (150 degrees C), or until a small amount of mixture dropped into very cold water separates into hard and brittle threads.
3. Remove from heat; immediately stir in butter and baking soda; pour at once onto cookie sheet. With 2 forks, lift and pull peanut mixture into rectangle about 14x12 inches; cool. Snap candy into pieces.
<div style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">

<div style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">Christmas is almost here and my 8 week cake decorating class is over. Did it ever go quick, it was something I was really glad that I finally did. I did learn a lot and here are some of the fruits of my labour. My teacher Betty's Cake recipe is the one we used in the class to bake and cover etc , so I am spreading the Christmas cheer by sharing her recipe, it is a basic recipe so dont expect all the bells and whistles.It still turned out delicious and the more in advance that you make it before the big day , the more the cake will sing in your mouth with each bite.
<div style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">

<div style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">When I was in boarding school in Zambia there was one thing we all would looked forward too and that was when we would eagerly run down to the dining hall for tea and would be greeted by none other than delicious whoopie pies.That was the first time I was ever introduced to these wonderful little tea time snacks. To be honest I can not remember having them since so I was long over due for some!

Thanks to the wonderful Sakeji School group on Facebook I was able to get the recipe. However since the original recipe caters for I am guessing roughly 60 or more hungry kids I have modified it slightly praying that I had not changed it too much from the original .I remembered it having whipped cream in the middle , but the recipe proves my memory a little lacking since it appears to be a butter cream icing . This recipe was really easy , and within half an hour I was pretty much done and just had them sitting on the rack waiting to cool. Once they were completely cool they could be filled with the beautiful soft creamy butter icing.As my sister said it is very rare when something from your childhood memories taste as good and exactly how you remembered it , they were amazing !
<div style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">
Everyone these days seems to be bringing up "Cake Pops”. Up until a few weeks ago I had not even heard about them, yes I have quite possibly been living in my own world. It is amazing the things people have done with them, so many exciting shapes and sizes. I thought I would start small there is a reason they say you have to walk before you can run. I was leafing through an old recipe magazine and I found this recipe. They make any party more festive instantly and with Christmas approaching it is a great idea to try these. So after trying to patiently twirl pieces of ribbon around my sticks I began actually trying out the recipe.
